5th & 6th Grade

Our vision for First 56 is to provide a space specifically for students in 5th and 6th grade to walk with them in their faith journey.
Jesus said the greatest command was to Love God and Love Others. At First 56, our mission is to provide space for students to do just that.

Middle School Update

At the end of every year I begin to seek the Lord for a verse to memorize and meditate on for the year. This year He led me to Lamentations 3:22-24. It says: “Because of the Lord’s faithful love, we do not perish, for his mercies never end.

They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness! I say, ‘The Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in him.’”
I have gone back to this verse many times here in these few short months of this year. What a promise we have in the Lord. No matter what we face each day the Lord is sufficient. His mercies never end, and He is faithful. Stand firm in the hope we have in Him.

To help encourage continued spiritual growth amongst our middle schoolers I have emailed out a 21 day devotional. It takes 21 days to make a habit and what better habit could we cultivate than spending time with Jesus through His word and prayer. If you didn’t receive it or if you want to join in with our middle schoolers please contact me at jkimbrell@greenwoodfbc.com

We are also looking at ways to engage digitally through an app called Zoom. It’s a video conferencing app that allows us to come together! Some of our leaders will be using this to stay connected with students! Be looking for email updates on when and how those events will be taking place.

If there is any way I can be praying for you, or if you need anything don’t hesitate to reach out!

Sunday Morning

Life Groups

10:45-12:00 in the James Building
We are committed to encourage and challenge 5th and 6th grade students to live their lives in a way that pleases God. We start in large group where we share announcements and introduce the theme for the morning. After that we break down into our Life Groups based on age and gender. The adult leaders then will lead the students in reading, teaching and discussing God’s Word. This is the place for students to meet friends and to be encouraged in following after Christ.

Wednesday Nights

6:30-7:30 pm at the James Building
Doors open at 6:00 pm.
Each Wednesday we meet together to worship. The night consists of worship through song, a message to encourage students to live for Christ, games and small groups to wrap up the night.

Spring Retreat

Sproing… the spring retreat at Siloam Springs, has been cancelled for 2020. Please contact the church office if you have any questions.
